Day 1: Dushanbe – Hissor – Dushanbe
The full day you will have sightseeing tour. You will explore the remarkable attractions of the capital. This day you will discover Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. Then you will stroll along National park where you will take photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs. Don’t miss chance to see the biggest National Flag in the world – 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. Then you will experience ancient attributes in Central Museum. The tour continues with transferring 35 km to visit Hissor fortress (VII–XVII centuries). It was built on the side of a large hill. A high fortress wall 1 meter thick with loopholes for guns and cannons was built of baked bricks. The main gate has a laconic and simple appearance, traditional for the feudal military architecture of the Emirate of Bukhara. In ancient times there was a pool and a garden and across from the fortress there was a busy market square with a caravan serai and shops. Large staircases and terraces lined with brick led up to the main entrance. Now there are two powerful gate towers that show how grand the structure was. There are also located other interesting attractions as the recently restored monuments of “Madrasa I Kuhna” (new school of 16th-17th centuries), mosque; the mausoleum of “Mahdumi Azam” (16th century). Afterwards you will transfer to Dushanbe. You will spend the night in the hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe – Khoburubot – Kalai Khum
After breakfast you will travel to Kalai Khum village. You are going to drive via fabulous mountain road. This day you will transfer along the fascinating Khoburubot Pass (3 252) known as Western Pamir Tract. You will drive along a beautiful road, see wildlife, enjoy beautiful panoramic views and you will have photo stops to take photos of beautiful gorges and rivers. You will have a chance to stop over small villages and meet the local inhabitants. By nature, Tajiks are kind, hospitable and hardworking people. They are happy to welcome any guest, always welcome and treat all the best that is in the house. You can find out that people in Tajikistan respect folklore, customs and traditions. Lovers of exotic and new culture, and wildlife will like this tour. Tajikistan's wildlife attracts tourists from all over the world. You will spend the night in a home stay where you will have a chance to explore way of local people’s life.
Day 3: Kalai Khum – Khorog
The next destination you will travel to Khorog. This city is probably the smallest in the world, especially which is shown on the world map. This city is surrounded on four sides by mountains that attract tourists. This is the administrative center of Gorno-Badakhshan region, and the only city in the Pamirs. Khorog was built on the confluence of the 3 rivers where Shokhdara River and Ghund River flow into Pyanj River. During the tour you will have a chance to get acquainted with Pamir people. The Pamir people differ in their anthropological characteristics from the Tajiks. Most Pamiris are people with fair hair, blue eyes, and fair skin, rather than being like Europeans. During the tour, you will learn that the Pamir Mountains are the largest part of the world's population after the Himalayas and Tibet. Remote life in the regions made the life of the Pamir people and customs different from the Tajiks. You will rest the night in the guesthouse.
Day 4: Khorog – Kalai Khum
You will start the tour with driving from Khorog to Kalai Khum. You will go the same way as before. On this territory there are high stone mountains that reach a height of 6000 meters, so it was only possible to build one road here. Traveling around the world, you have the opportunity to see the pure nature, learn Ethnography, history, culture, and also marvel at the charming views. You will learn about the mountain people, their lifestyle and how life really began here. During the tour you will stop over small villages where you will visit local people and to see their way of life. You will see the villages that are located on both sides of the river in narrow mountain valleys. During the tour you will observe Afghan stony villages and gardens. This night will be in the home stay.
Day 5: Kalai Khum – Norak – Dushanbe
The last active day of the tour will present you transferring to Dushanbe. This day you will end driving along Afghanistan border. You are going to travel via breathtaking Shuraba pass (2 267 m). Like all travelers, you will be amazed by the beauty of the Pamir Mountains. This is Territory of Pamir Mountains. As you understand that the Pamir mountains surprise with their beauty, power and nature, so many discoverers tried to visit the Pamir Mountains as Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. Now you also have a chance to explore these unique mountains. Then you will transfer along natural border – Pyanj River. Those who have ever traveled to the Pamirs call it system the ocean of white and blue mountains. During the tour you will visit Norak water reservoir. This reservoir also called as Tajik Sea. The overnight is in the hotel.
