Day 1: Ashgabat
Today you will arrive to fabulous Ashgabat! You will be met by the local guide at international airport and then you will be transferred to hotel check in and rest. During the tour you will explore the outstanding spot of the city as popular “Nisa” (UNESCO World Heritage since 2007). Nisa is the capital of the once-powerful Parthian Kingdom, and its ruins stretch 18 km West of Ashgabat. The ruined settlement is divided into two parts-the fortresses of Old Nisa and New Nisa. In the third century BC, New Nisa was the capital of Parthia, and the Old one, in turn, served as the residence of the monarch. Today you will also explore the fascinating sites as a mosque and mausoleum of the late President of Turkmenistan in Gypjak.
Day 2: Ashgabat – Darwaza – Ashgabat
Today you will have an entertaining tour in the National Museum of History and Museum Carpet, where you will observe the fabulous artifacts and explore the ancient history of the country. In the second part of the tour you will transfer to fantastic natural attraction the Gas Crater - Darwaza. The way will take about 240 km. During the tour you will have a chance to enjoy the views and take photos of the desert. This gas crater fascinates with its views and beautiful lights that have been bursting out of the ground for 40 years. Along the way you will have stops in a small nomadic village Erbent. This dinner will be near Gas crater. Then you will return to Ashgabat.
Day 3: Ashgabat – Mary – Gonurdepe
Today you will have a chance to explore the amazing 5th center of civilization Margush/ Gonurdepe. You will transfer north-east site 90 km from Mary city. Ancient Merv is the dream of travelers who are interested in ancient culture and vanished civilizations. Today, this territory contains the remains of at least five ancient cities of various periods. The country of Margush is considered to be one of the oldest civilizations on Earth, according to the assumptions of modern historians, which rightfully claims to be one of the four ancient cultural centers of the world, along with Egypt, China and India. Merv was the most important point on the international caravan route of the Great Silk Road and the capital of the prosperous region of Margiana. The name of the city in the Holy book of the Zoroastrians "Avesta" it is designated as "Mouru". Later the name changed-Margush, Margiana, and Merv. Then you will explore the National History and Ethnology Museum.
Day 4: Mary – Merv – Ashgabat
Today you will transfer to Ancient Merv. Surrounded by powerful fortress walls with hundreds of towers, ancient Merv, located at the most important trade intersection of the Great Silk Road, bustled with crowded bazaars and caravanserais. Numerous caravans with goods from China, India and Europe came here. Today you will have a chance to experience the highlight tour and explore such attractions as Gyz Gala, Erk Gala, Soltan Gala, SoltanSanjar Mausoleum, IbnZeid Mausoleum. Then you will transfer to Mary city. After you will continue the tour with driving to Ashgabat city. Then you will have a break in the city.
Day 5: Ashgabat
After breakfast you will drive to outstanding attraction the real pride of Turkmen people Akhal Teke horse in the horse farm. This day you will have a chance to enjoy the master class of horse riding and admire the views of the horses. Today you will also explore the memorial complex and the Russian market. Walking through the Russian Bazaar, you can enjoy the charm of souvenirs, buy national attributes of Turkmenistan, bargain and marvel at the color of the Bazaar.
