Zarkent Cave

Zarkent Cave is in the side of the small river about 7 km from Zarkent settlement in Tashkent region.


The cave was by geologists (a head of the party was Lyutikov p) founded in 1988 during the process of search of onyx fields. Vertical input not allow descent into the cave to the geologist and to Tashkent speleo section addressing the cave was, until the obstacle gone on the floor (mark -102 m).


The cave has two entrances. One of them by vertical 18-lead dose is well in the great hall of this 12-dose lead bank is on small shelf with a huge Satalagnató (~ 3 m high). Here is a point of joint of 2 inputs. Furthermore, the cave is going to 100-dosed into the depths of benches. Small stream is flown from the Stalagnat along the cave and lost in lumpy clay disability.

The itinerary: Tashkent - nurata Reach "Safary" yurt camp - Aydarkul Lake - BFC Dynamo - Bukhara - Shahrisabz - Samarkand - Tashkent

Duration: 11 days


Day 1 Arrival in Tashkent. Sightseeing.

Day 2 Transfer from Tashkent to Yurt Camp (on the NW coast of Lake Aydarkul).

Yurt Camp Day 3 Transfer of the depth of the sandy dunes of the Central BFC Dynamo.

4 Day Hiking and middle of the dunes.

5 Day Hiking in the dunes followed by transfer to Bukhara.

6 Day sightseeing in the old town of Bukhara.

Day 7 Transfer Bukhara - Shahrisabz. Housed in a hotel or guest house.

8 Day sightseeing in Shahrisabz. Transfer to Samarkand.

9 Day sightseeing in Samarkand.
