8 - Termez Archaeological research has given us a number of materials related to the history of his culture, in various forms of material culture and art. The excavations made visible aspects of the artistic culture of architecture in the form of ground-level monuments, groups of buildings, and the applied arts.
Early copies of Fine Art Sculpture, paintings and household items were found during excavations of two Buddhist monasteries, the cave at Karatepa (1) and the near-ground monument at Fayaztepa revealed. Articles of applied art were usually made of ceramics found at the site of the ancient city of Old Termez.
Pattern of sculpture and painting at the above monasteries studied are associated with Buddhism, the religion brought Tokharistan during the Kushan dynasty conquered India. These objects were taken shape with universal themes and images connected in India, but in some artistic artifacts you can find some local effects.
Painting was found on the walls of the room for prayer in the monasteries of Termez both. The foundation stone for the walls in Karatepa was a clay plaster with plaster coating on the rocky ground. Fayaztepa in this patch was applied to raw clay packed. The wall has suffered over the years, have lost much, but the remains make it possible to understand the general content of the compositions and the subject of images.
The paintings were composed of lines and broad brush strokes. There were black, red, yellow and dark blue color on a white background. In Karatepa part of the walls four pedals rosettes were ornamental motifs in the form of small squares, six-point stars, and covered. Fragments of the clearly expressed Buddhist themes where found there. Under recently found images are scenes of devotion to the Buddha, the standing or sitting cross-legged in a meditative pose. On both sides, there are monks against the background of trees shown, or women with arms folded.
The motifs on the walls of Fayaztepa are also traditional. On one wall of the sanctuary was an extended composition, of which only the lower part is preserved. There are two consequences of the Buddha standing in the middle of a long name of a sankhati. On both sides there are women with hands folded in prayer believers in long draped dresses and coats of patterned fabrics. All figures are based on an ornate carpet standing.
